City Exchange! IDEXlab in Boone, NC

  • Boone, NC

Join us Friday, March 18, 2016 for our first AIA North Carolina Emerging Professionals City Exchange event. We will be holding an interactive Design-Build workshop pairing North Carolina AIA Emerging Professionals and Appalachian State University IDEXlab students.

We need 10 committed emerging professionals to participate from around the state.

Appalachian State University's IDEXlab (Integrative Design Experience Laboratory) redefines a traditional approach to the study of the built environment in higher education.

Working in a professional office-like setting, IDEXlab students plan, build, and commission real projects for real clients, while faculty serve as both educators and facilitators. This multidisciplinary program brings together students from concentrations in construction management, architectural technology and design and sustainable building systems.

The day will be spent with IDEXlab students mentoring, designing and building in a high-bay warehouse facility where the students design and prefabricate building projects.

This will be an exciting event for Emerging Professionals across the state! Please encourage EP, YAF and Associate members to participate. Volunteer time can count toward IDP and Community Service Hours.
