YAF Triangle

Emerging Professionals

The Triangle Young Architects Forum | Emerging Professionals is a subcommittee of the American Institute of Architects Triangle Chapter. The organization focuses on the professional and personal development of interns and young architects in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region of North Carolina. We strive to aid young architects in the transition from graduation to licensure and beyond.

What are we up to in 2016?  A lot!

This JANUARY | AIAT Leadership Forum

AIA Triangle is taking applications for the 2016 program.  Get your employer on board and fill out the application.  Details are coming soon.  Spaces are limited and the program is competitive.   Self employed AIA members or those who work at small firms are eligible for the Small Firms Roundtable Scholarship.  More information at the AIAT Leadership Forum website.

Thursday FEBRUARY 4th | 2016 YAF KickOFF

Join us for a drop-in Fullsteam from 6:30-8:30.  Hear a little about what we're doing as you help us run up a bar tab. Then stay to play on the YAF Trivia Team at 9pm.

Thru FEBRUARY=Help Build RESPACE

Earn IDP or CE hours while helping build a community gathering space from recycled materials.  YAF will make an impact on a Neighborhood in Wake Forest.

The design was created by YAF members who won the 2014 RESPACE Design Competition.  The covered gathering space was based on the concept of the Southern front porch.

Please sign up through their site so that paperwork is finished before you arrive.

It is an essential Professional Development resource for those who want to become better civic and chapter leaders.  Share your vision and voice and make a difference in Detroit, where a new revitalization movement has swept the city.

If you are interested in attending please touch base with us at yaftrangle@gmail.com.  We will organize discounted/shared arrangements for any group who signs up.

There will be workshops on:

-Creative ideas and thoughts on how to meet some of the challenging economic, social and cultural issues facing cities.

-Knowledge, resources and tools that you can implement in your component, firm and local government.

-Essential leadership skills that can help you in your leadership positions.

-An understanding of your role in transforming the organization into one that is valued by the public through networking, peer to peer dialogue and programs.

-Connect and network with other young leaders from across the world.
